Yellow Brick Road

Well, this weekend has been interesting.

My uncle got here ok on Friday.  Work was good on Friday.  I made my first tips.  Woohoo!  And I got to work the first station, where people come up to order, and you fill the tortillas.  Fun stuff.

Yesterday, my uncle realized he left an important med at home, so he had to call lots of places to get some.  Eventually, we ended up going to the ER to get it.  So, that was interesting.  Then we went and picked up Susi for lunch, then we went up to Lone Pine and wondered around a little bit.  Went back to the house, and we looked at pictures from my Uncle's trip to Abu Dubi.  Those were pretty cool.  And then this morning, mom made a big ol' brunch, and Susi came over.  Then we ended up driving around, looking for a few places that my uncle might be interested in living.  Which was really kind of boring.  Then we ended up going to Cost-Co.  And then back to the house.  And we were looking for a specific place, and we drove around looking for it, but we couldn't find it.  So we come back, and I look it up again, and I find the directions to it.  Turns out, we didn't go far enough down the street.  So we went back to it.  Lame.

Working 11-4 tomorrow.  Glad it's not like, open/open.  I really don't like messing with the fryer.  I mean, not that it's bad.  It's just a mess.  Cleaning it out every morning is such a pain.  And Friday, I was all on schedule, ready to clean the dinning room.  And I would've had the dinning room all cleaned up in time, had I not had to fry another batch of chips.  It was frustrating, but I guess that's how it goes.  And I'll know for the next Friday I have to work.  But yeah, I like the schedule I'm working tomorrow.

I just realized, that tomorrow is Valentine's Day.  I don't hate it, but it's not my favorite.  And it makes me think of a classmate, that I'm pretty sure, committed suicide, other wise he was in a tragic accident, 5 years ago.  But yeah, in general, it's just not my favorite holiday.

Anyways, things are ok I guess.  I just wish I was actually tired right now.  Cause I'm not.  And I hate this.  *Sighs*

I guess I'll try to get some sleep.

If you had the power, would you permanently eliminate Valentine's Day?

No.  I mean.  Is it an overly commercialized holiday, like Christmas and Halloween?  Of course it is.  But that doesn't mean we should get rid of it.  I mean, it does actually serve a historical purpose.  So if anything, we should leave it there because of that.  That, and I think we really should appreciate the ones we love.  But that should be everyday, not just on Valentine's Day.  But in short, no I wouldn't eliminate it.
